Our EV-M2 Elite FAST Mobility Scooter is similar in looks to our popular XB-420M mobility scooter (by a different manufacturer) but has several advantages and improvements:

1) The EV-M2 has hydraulic shocks on all three wheels. The XB420M's shocks are only on the front wheel. If you drive on smooth paved surfaces, you will not be able to tell the difference. But, if you drive on uneven bumpy surfaces, such as badly cracked or uneven sidewalks, then you will find the EV-M2 far more comfortable.

2) The EV-M2 has been upgraded to electric assisted brakes on all three wheels! In most circumstances, for a driver that has average hand strength, the XB-420M brakes are fine. But, if you need to negotiate slopes or have a weaker than average grip, then the EV-M2 electric-assisted brakes will be perfect for you.

3) Anti-theft alarm system. The EV-M2 comes equipped with an anti-theft alarm security system. If someone tries to move or tamper with your scooter when the security system has been turned on, a loud alarm is sounded, alerting one and all that this person (who is now running away) was attempting to steal your scooter.

4) Another improvement is that the EV-M2 has a brushless motor as compared to the brushed motor on the XB-420M. On a brushless motor, there are no brushes to wear out and need replacing. Both the EV-M2 and the XB-420M mobility scooters have a 1-piece combined 500 watt electric motor, rear axle and differential unit like that of the most expensive mobility scooters for nearly zero maintenance. In both cases, these electric motors will last a very long time. (Compare this integrated rear motor for example to the front wheel hub motor on similar scooters, a very poor location since most of the scooter's weight and your weight is over the rear wheels, in addition to making it very difficult to simply change the front tire. The location and type of motor on the EV-M2 offers a substantial advantage.)

5) The EV-M2 mobility scooter has a locking glove box in the dash (in front of your knees) as compared to the small open compartment on the XB-420M.

6) Improving the appearance is the attractive separate front fender and chrome bumper (compare appearance to XB-420M).

7) Headlight with high/low beam (compare to low-beam only on XB-420M).

8) Your EV-M2 is test ridden before it is prepared for shipment to you. Because this level of quality control is expensive, most distributors never open the box after delivery from the factory but just "hope" that everything is okay even though the scooter or bike has been transferred from dock to dock, stacked tightly in a large container, shipped across the ocean, and then transferred again by truck from dock to their warehouse. Our distributor doesn't rely on "hope" but actually tests each scooter before it is shipped to you!

9) NEW!! Your EV-M2 arrives fully assembled. Just remove the scooter from the wooden crate, remove the bubble wrap, screw on the mirrors, charge the batteries, check the air pressure in the tires, adjust the brakes to your liking, and drive it away! (By comparison, the XB-420M requires that, in addition to the above, you unbolt the struts and braces on a steel framed box, loosen and pull the front axle bolt (from the steel frame) in order to remove the scooter, install the front wheel and front brake, and install the basket.)

• A very plush and comfortable Deluxe Captain Seat with fold up arms is now STANDARD (it used to be an $189 option!) Persons with limited mobility or who have special requirements need a seat with arms which can be rotated up out of the way to make it easier to mount or dismount from the scooter. This capability is provided by our Deluxe Captain Seat along with more cushioning and a more expensive look (see photo below). In addition, the tilt of the back of the seat is adjustable and the seat can be moved backwards or forwards so that it is at a comfortable distance for you from the handlebar controls.

This scooter has a strong steel chassis and is constructed with high-quality components. The EV-M2 weighs a sturdy 225 lbs and can carry up to an additional 330 lbs (you and all your groceries)! [Compare the EV-M2, for example, to the Pride Elite Traveller whose weight capacity is 55 lbs less, is constructed primarily of plastic, has a tiny basket, goes a fourth as fast, and travels one fourth as far before needing to be recharged.]

The seat position is adjustable (forwards and backwards) to accommodate people of different sizes. The arm rests conveniently fold up to make it easy to get on and off the scooter. Even the tilt of the seat back can be adjusted for you optimum comfort.

*The following 'enhancements' are made to every EV-M2 Elite Mobility Scooter before it leaves our local store: we add thick rubber mounts under the seat bracket to completely eliminate any seat side-to-side rocking motion and to take the pressure off the rear seat latch which can otherwise become bent; we modify the the seat latch so that the seat latch spring cannot come loose; we replace the threaded bolts through the seat hinges with heavy-duty stainless steel clevis pins that are the right size and ten times as strong; and lastly, we apply Loctite and tighten all bolts on the motor/transaxle and transaxle frame mounting so these critical bolts cannot come loose.
